Customer comments on this selection. Christmas Gift I got this for my niece to help her someday remember her grandparents. (Yes, they are still alive.) Just Right I purchased Grandfather and Me originally, and just found the Grandmother and me book, I am very pleased with it, as my parents are Grandparents for the first time, and this is all so exciting! It is nice that it holds the interest of Grandparents, allowing them to share the family history through the family tree, and talking about what things were like when they were children, and when I was a child, as well as things that children identify with such as "what animal your Grandparent most looks like". It is in no way offending, unless you are so easily offended that speaking to children ( who are most often brutally honest) is a little more than you can take. My parents can't wait to get started! Grandmother and Me: A Special Book for You and Your Grandmo I bought two of these books, and upon closer inspection, decided NOT to send them for Mother's Day. This book caught my attention as a great way to connect the generations and preserve precious family information, however, once I looked at it more closely, I felt that some of the questions were a little crass. For example, it asks the child to list things about the grandmother that drive him/her crazy; it asks a series of questions like, "If your grandmother were an animal, what animal would she be?"; it asks which cariacature the child's grandmother most resembles, featuring almost-harsh, exaggerated drawings of grandmothers. I just felt that some grandmothers might not enjoy certain parts of the book. I wish there were another book similar to this one that could be filled out together by grandmom/grandchild. It is aesthetically pleasing, a lot of the content is good, the illustrations are really colorful, and the tone of the book is fun, but certain parts just felt abrasive to me. Unfortunately, I'll be returning the books for this reason.
